The Code of Wages 2019
The Government of India has passed the Code of Wages 2019 on 8th August 2019 to consolidate the labour laws and regulations relating to minimum wages, payment of wages, payment of bonus and to equal remuneration to the employees.
With the enactment of The Code of Wages 2019, The Payment of Wages Act, 1936, the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 and the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 has been repealed.
Rajya Sabha passed the Code on Wages Bill, 2019 on 8th August and Lok Sabha has already passed the bill on July 30, 2019. The Bill will become an Act after Presidential assent
